Roller Blind Finishes

We have various different finishes available for Roller Blinds.

13 different Finishes (see diagram below), including the clear bottom bar and eyelets, plus fancy pole finials.

Roller Blind Finishes

Where a Scallop has a pole, you can choose from; Chrome, Brass, Brushed Steel or Wooden (Dark Wood, Light Wood or Painted Whitewashed).

The pole ends (known as finials) will be as shown below as standard. We also offer a variety of luxury style finials - please see further down this page for our full range of Parts & Accessories.

Standard Finials Supplied

The Clear Bottom Bar improves upon the standard Straight Finish, in wrapping the fabric through and around the bar – resulting in a raised, more luxurious look. By eliminating elements such as stitch-lines, a much greater overall effect can be achieved with a flush, clean cut & modern appearance.

Fabrics - Further information.

  • Blackout fabrics tend to be ‘Suitable for moist conditions’, as a PVC coating is used to render it as blackout. Some blackout fabrics are in fact 100% PVC, glass-fibre composition – meaning as well as being impervious to water they are also Fire Retardant**.
  • Additionally, with all blackout fabrics being rather substantial they ‘stand the test of Blackout Fabric Spec Symboltime’. Sometimes costing a little more than plain fabrics, you get more for your money in that they have noticeably longer life spans. They can also prove invaluable in limiting heat-loss, increasing thermal efficiency all year round & they play a key role in insulating your home.
  • The solidity & hard-wearing nature of blackout fabrics means they are a prime choice for pet owners, particularly pure PVC ones (3 ply vinyl, 1 ply fibreglass). Wipe-clean, safe & resilient to playful swinging paws & claws.
  • Blinds that are manufactured using fabrics with a PVC Coated; PVC backed fabric; or pure PVC fabrics will deliver a superior room darkening effect than thinner, non-coated fabrics. There will however inherently be gaps around the outside edges of Roller blinds & between each drape of a Vertical blind so inevitably light shall be present to some degree. It can be highlighted that a fabric itself may be 100% blackout - however the overall effect of the blind will not stop 100% of light transmission.

  • Varying translucent fabrics are a modern option available with blinds. They can offer privacy whilst still allowing valuable light to filter through. This can vastly increase the overall versatility of Roller blinds.Dimout Fabric Spec Symbol
  • Dimouts are worth their weight in gold in preventing the ‘fish-bowl’ effect. Peoples homes that have a high level of footfall close by, can hugely benefit from the versatility & privacy that these kind of fabrics deliver in spades.
  • They reduce glare by diffusing direct sunlight - enabling full & uninterrupted enjoyment of VDU’s (visual display units) such as TV (especially plasmas), computer gaming, work on laptops, tablets & phones. One of the many functional properties of Dimouts.

Sheer fabrics & Lightly textured voiles give a subtle dim-out effect,

  • Sheer fabric is made using thin thread and/or a low density of knit which results in a semi-transparent and delicate cloth.
  • Voile is a soft, sheer fabric, usually made of 100% cotton or cotton blends including linen or polyester. The term comes from French, and means veil. Because of its light weight, the fabric is mostly used in soft furnishing or luxurious window coverings.

**Fire Retardant fabric - meeting stipulated requirements & legislation, namely ‘BS5867 Part 2 Type B’ & ‘Type C’.
